Default Drivers Side Mirror Mount Location?

Hi everyone. The previous owner of my 1969 coupe deleted the driver's side mirror. Safety and my narrow garage makes me want to put it back. Any hints on trying to find the original mount points? I assume they have Bondo over them and even though the last paint job wasn't great I don't see witness marks. Barring that, does anyone have measurements I can use to approximate the correct mounting location? Worst case I'll use well nuts like when adding a passenger side mirror. Thanks in advance.

Have you considered opening the interior door panel to see if the holes are obvious?

Believe they're on the other side of the glass. Pretty tight in there without taking out the glass. Hoping to avoid that bag of worms.

I don't know if this helps or not but there's a printable template to locate the passenger side mirrors here https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...load-link.html
If the location of the mirrors changed over the years I don't know (didn't think so) just the size of the mirrors did in around 74 went to the larger faces (Mine have the larger faced ones and are located in a non-stock location so I can't check)
This is the file (so you don't have to dropbox)
M
(keep in mind these were for passenger side mirrors using wellnuts which is why the holes are so large on the pattern)

Just for clarity I beleive some of the early 68s had a different mirror position initially that later changed if I am not mistaken. This being a 69 I think the mirror was in the same place through out the run. At a minimum if you remove the door card you might be able to see thru the glass to give you a good reference were to find the holes and to see if the mounting structure is still there. Ike

Good to know, thank you. Mine is an early '69 (Oct 1968 assembly) so I'll keep this in mind. Good thought on approximating the location through the window. Thanks.

I think that's what he's kind of trying to do, put the drivers mirror back on...

Doug C. I suggest avoiding the well-nuts..... If you're going in there then consider doing this in stainless steel for longevity and a secure mounting:
