Took the 71 that ya’ll have been so patient and helpful to me with on a little road trip today.
There was a big car show in Sebastian today, a little over 40 miles away from where we live, wife took her Mustang and I brought the vette.
She does really well for still needing a lot of suspension work. Wanders a bit at lower speeds but tracks better above 45 to 50 mph.
No issues going or coming.
As soon as I sell my Miata I should have close to enough money to get the suspension done and the wipers and top fixed so I can start daily driving her. Right now anything above about a 2 to 3 percent chance of rain and she stays in the garage.
Cool. I love daily driver stories. I daily drove my '71 Convertible for almost 3 years when my first son turned 16 and I gave him my commuter car. Loved every minute of it and I drove it rain or shine.
Well there’s half inch gaps between window and stripping right now, plus the top’s frame has some damage. And while the wiper door opens and closes correctly, the wipers themselves don’t move, so while I plan to daily it, we’re not quite there yet.
I actually use Turtle Wax Hybrid Solutions 3 in 1 ceramic detailer on my all my auto glass and I never use my wipers on my Miata either.
Just figured it would be good backup just in case.
Also, I might need a new windshield, unless there’s a way to polish a LOT of swirl marks out of glass. The light halos from oncoming headlights when night driving is really bad.
