Not a lot can be said from the scant info you gave. Basically a 180HP (L46) 350 built in Feb 1976. Whether you got screwed or not is based upon the price you paid vs. the shape the car is in.

Look here. Allegedly a SALVAGE. Hope you got a good deal: https://www.nicb.org/vincheck
It's a 76 so they might declare it totalled even with minor damage.... but there it is-- declared a Total Loss in Januray 27, 2015.

I don't have photos yet because it hasn't been delivered to me. It has a clean title so I don't understand the total loss reported. How can it have a clean title. Weird??

It may have a state-issued salvage title.

That would be L-48, not L-46.

Good Luck....check it out VERY carefully.

i also have a 2015 RAV4 that is reconstructed. but when we went to NJ DMV with the reconstructed PA title we got back a clean NJ title that does not say rebuilt salvage. and it comes up on this site as salvage history. so some states issue clean titles after cleared salvage. now, if it needed paint when it was hit, the value is depressed. so the amount of damage it takes to total it would be a lot less. my 75 was a very light nose hit. but horrible checked-crazed flaking off paint. was totalled and salvage title said it needed a hood and nothing more.

Here in N.M. it's called title washing. I bought a 93 from a local guy. He said I could have the car if I paid off his loan at Title Max which was less than we agreed on. Paid off his loan got a perfect title from title max. Went to DMV and all kinds of bells and whistles went off. Not a salvage car but REBUILT. The title was washed in a little town for a couple bucks I guess. DMV said nothing I could do.

Ever since I found that website I have it saved to my favorites.

My opinion is that link to https://www.nicb.org/vincheck oughta be in the sticky for buying a Corvette.

Remember this thread? https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...post1600118983

Pathetic dealer acted ignorant once the buyer had info and started asking questions.
