Are both half shafts the same? I “ string aligned” the rear yesterday, and the driver side assembly appears to stick out about 3/8” farther off center than the other. If not that, then the entire rear end assy must be slightly offset to the driver side.
Both half shafts are the same. Something is off with your car. Perhaps body?
I have the frame off. Measured at both ends, determined a c/l, and then measured 30-3/8” from that c/l on both sides. Pulled a string from end to end, then unloaded the rear suspension, and leveled the half shafts to simulate ride height.
adjusted camber to 0 degrees, and adjusted toe to dead straight.
From there, you can see the passenger side is inboard about 1/4-3/8” when compared to the DS.
A lot of c3's have rear wheel/tires that stick out farther on 1 side in the back.
I don't know why, but it's been discussed here a few times, and is not unusual.
I read about it in the past, and went out and checked.
Yep, mine is different.
