Default Tips on Finding Gauge/Light Ground

Having an interesting problem in my 78 manual where when I turn my interior lights on my temp gauge goes all the way to the right and decreases as I dim the lights and is normal when off. The temp light is also the only gauge light that doesn’t work. Additionally, my right blinker light stays on when the lights are on but doesn’t flash, it’s just solid and when I apply brake it illuminates with the lights off and the temp gauge goes up 50-100 degrees or so. I’m honestly not sure where to start besides just taking a look, but wanted to see if anyone had some tips from experience on what to look for to fix this issue? Tested the temp gauge accuracy and it’s almost spot on, so know this is a wiring issue somewhere.

I don’t know about a 78 but there are several ground wires that go from my tail lights directly to the frame on my 73.
Check all those first because they are easy to see and get to.
There are also several grounds for the center console gauges on my 73 so one could be loose causing your issue.
Have you done any recent or new work to the car or replaced any parts?
You could find they are related so work one then the other.
