Spare Tire
I bought a car 74 and it does not have a spare tire. I have American racing 17 inch wheels running 225/50/17 on the front and 235/55/17 in the rear. I have a 15 inch rally wheel and am looking for a spare size tire that will work. Any suggestions?

Join AAA. Their card fits in your wallet, and is always the correct size!
Do you have the spare tire mounting tub and hardware? Make sure your current tires fit in that before investing too heavily in a spare, but I think the stock size equivalent is 225/70R15.

Considering your non standard wheel sizes, and different sizes front and rear. I am inclined to agree with Bikespace. Towing cover sounds like a plan. In my MX5 the factory supplied a can of fixaflat and a mini compressor in a pouch in the trunk.

To actually answer your question, a 225/70R15 tire will be skinny enough to fit in the carrier and still be close enough to the diameter of your other wheels to function for temporary duty.
