I was hoping someone could help me figure out where the orange wire is suppose to connect, on the fan blower area on a 73? This wire was taped up with the ground (black) wire that goes to the blower ground spade connector. The blower has a purple 12 volt wire. There is an separate orange 12 volt wire going to the blower relay (from the horn relay). It's not listed on the wiring schematic for the AC section. Of course, the fan blower isn't working! 😕

Is this the wire you're asking about?
The red wire comes from the Junction box (12 volts positive) and connects (at the in line-fuse) to the ORANGE and brings power so the fan can run at hi speed.
No luck, the 12 gauge orange wire from the horn is connected (with +12v), this is a 14 gauge orange wire with no power, or continuity. I'm thinking about unwrapping the the harness and see where it comes from?
I also have an errant orange wire wandering around under the hood running east and west, never have figured out where the stupid thing goes. '72. It like, everything is working, so what could this go to?

The blower motor ground wire comes from the starter motor.
It should be connected to a starter or bell housing bolt.
Did a PO splice your mystery orange wire into the black wire for some unknown reason?
Well, you were right, I started following the trail, and noticed some wires going thru the firewall where the tech cable goes. Someone had hooked up a cruise control.
Not really sure why they went all the way to the blower for power?
Anyway, problem solved.
Thanks for your help!
