I'm debating on these or blinker genie for my 1979. Can someone confirm the front markers blink with turn signals and headlights on/off and also stay on with headlights on? Anyone have a picture of the front marker on and turn signal function for a 1979 version of these?

Perhaps the Blinker Genie 2 does it differently. The way I wired everything, the front markers blink opposite from the front turn signals.
Ha, I used your writeup and tried to avoid the blinker genie with diodes. Couldn't get it to work so now I am back to blinker genie 2 for automotive (~$45) or buy these replacement marker lights for about the same price. The good thing about the replacements is not hacking up my marker light wiring and finding a ground. I want to confirm they work before buying though.

Then I'd try the marker lights first. The spendy, polarity-agnostic LEDs should do what you want. Perhaps they are returnable if they don't work.
Please feel free to amend my thread if you find a solution that's easier than a Blinker Genie!

Got them installed. They act just like LED bulbs and do not have a circuit board to make them act like normal. I need to order a blinker genie to resolve this now.
They are not sequential like the 80s version posted above.
I get dim light with running lights and headlights on.
It kills my turn signals when running lights and headlights on. So I get nothing out of front turn signal lights or tail lights.
Also they are CHEAP. I had 2 posts snap off when installing them. I had to rig them with some metal screws.
