Default C3 spoilers

New guy here...first post...in search of my 1st Vette...wanting and searching for a 78-80 / Silver / Black / 4 speed / L82...

Are the front and rear spoilers from the 79 - D80 truly "bolt-on," and can they be added to any other C3's?

Thanks!

The Indy pace car spoilers. As they are generally referred to. Are indeed bolt on. The front one is a bit of custom work getting everything to fit up properly the first time. And they are easy to break. The rear is actually a matter of getting holes in the right places.
And good luck with your search. However, if a L82 4 speed is what you require. Narrow that down to 78-79

Thank you! Yes, I think it's a `79 for me. I kinda like the power windows and locks, along with the spoilers.

Welcome to the forum!

While there’s no fiberglass work that needs to be done, I wouldn’t call them truly “bolt on.” You will need to drill holes in the body to mount the pieces. It’s also common to put the ‘80-‘82 rear bumper with the built in spoiler on earlier cars. I prefer the look of the pace car one though. Here’s an article with more information and instructions on installing the front splitter.

Heres a car I saw on marketplace the other day. I’m not usually a fan of brown cars, but the wheels and spoilers really make the look.

Is it wrong to post links to cars for sale and ask opinions? I know this is a premium asking price, but this car looks pretty sharp and has lots of new suspension items. The engine compartment needs detailing. But, still pretty nice looking from the pics.

I live in Virginia and this car is in California. Obviously, I would get an independent inspection, but one question I have from the pics is about the rust spots above the exhaust tips on both sides (on the underside of the tail end). Is this typical surface rust bleeding thru a drain hole?

looks ok.. that is NOT a factory spoiler up front. some mods.. look somewhat California smogable. not sure if the L82 in CA were any different in HP etc.. or even sold there.
here is a 79 L82 front spoiler. all bolts right in except the top trim screw on side of lower fender and support brackets.

IMO that’s a lot for even a very good condition ’79.

If you’re looking for a white C3 with a lot of new suspension items I’ve heard there’s a good looking ‘76 in the for sale section…

Also the rear bumpers are polyurethane. They don’t rust. That’s a burn mark from the exhaust tips.

I agree with Piersonpie... not even comperable.

A little zooming in on that 79 can show the quality of the paint job and rattle can interior spray over the hardware.
