L88 motor for sale. LOOK INSIDE!
Hi,
I know someone who says they are selling an L88 motor. It has aluminum heads, roller rockers, the whole bit. The guy says it came from a real L88. I'm getting the numbers tomorrow if anyone is interested.
Anyone know what this would be worth?

I think this depends very much on the block casting number and date.
Same for the heads.

A new ZL1 aluminum block (bare) from GM Performance is $5000!!! :eek: So, I would expect a complete L88 would have a VERY, VERY heavy price tag, probably in the $10-15K range.

What type of Clone for this amount ?
Is this with a correct dated block , so only the interior cloned ?

You could do it with a dated block.
Block - $1500
heads - $2000
crank - $500
rods - $600
pistons - $425
rings - $100
cam/lifters $180
machine work $1000
gaskets - $100
$6405
you would still need the accessories such as H2O and fuel pumps, intake and exhaust manifolds. But this is pretty close if you chose your parts carefully and find some good deals.
