If you don't have one but know of a potential source please pass on to me.
This is for a '72 454.

If you can wait a couple weeks, I can check the casting number on the q-jet I have at home. I just got the car and took off on business, so I haven't really looked at it. It may be original and date coded correctly, since mine's a '72 too.
It looks nice, like it's been rebuilt, but I can find out for sure when I get back on the 30th.

I'm not even sure if it's the original. Like I said, I haven't looked very closely at it.
Even if it was, the motor's not the original and I'm running an edelbrock I'm very happy with. There seems to be little reason to keep it, other than the nostalgia of having the original occupying a corner of the garage with the car it's not on.
If it was the number's matching motor, or at least the correct block, I'd probably keep it.
The car was resto-modded long before I got ahold of it, so I'm not a big stickler for originality. Much to the horror of many early C3 owners and rivet counters. Well, whatever the car guy equivilent of someone who nit picks over what are meaningless details in my mind.
Again, my thoughts would be much different if the car was a number's matching survivor or something.

I understand completely. I'm changing mine because its for a non-
Corvette 350 sitting on a 454. I have no qualms about installing a replacement Q-jet for under $300 but if I happen to find the correct one, that's cool too.
