Anyone have a spare engine in their garage??
there's nothing wrong with the crate that i have right now, but 300 hp doesn't quench my thirst. i'm kinda looking for a performance 350, 355, 383, or maybe even a 400 small block. unless there is a big difference between small block and big block, i'll also look for a big block too. it can be an incomplete longblock, maybe even a shortblock. i'm not really urgent as it's not necessary. but if i find something i'll definitely get it.
i've got one more year in high school, so i want to have an engine to either build or complete, then install it by spring break. let me know if you have one or know of one for sale.
thanks, andrew

I would just find a good four bolt block and have a 383 rotating assembly put in. Then you can select your heads and other parts. It's a bit pricier than having a good longblock rebuilt, but you'll get much more power out of a complete custom build than a stock with a few parts on it.

Doesn't everyone have a spare engine in their garage?
Only spare I have now is one to rebuild for my Balzer ---its got a Hecho in Mexico crate motor in it I bought off of ebay form a guy in Houston a few years ago.
Finding one close enough to pickupis the tricky part.

This guy had a 327/365 horse motor for sale not to long ago. I love 327s and this solid lifter version would be fun to shift at 6500 rpms!

I am about 8 hours from you in Florida. I have the original engine out of my `76. It's complete, and as far as I know there is nothing wrong with it. The PO took it out to install the blower motor that is in the car now. I doubt Ill ever go back to it since I now have a hole in my hood, and am not really a numbers matching kind of guy anyways.
PM me if your interested.

I have a spare 350 right now. It's in pieces though. Nothing was wrong when I took it apart. It had around 15,000 miles. It just has has a cast crank pink rods. I also have an aluminum intake and hei. Depends on how in the rpm range you want to go into.
I also live by you by the Lakewood ranch area
