1977 Corvette factory floor mats (RPO B32) for sale
In 1977, it was the first year for a carpeted floor mat. GM used a trial and error basis. The first batch manufactured had a separation problem between the carpet and the rubber. In addition, the back side of the mat had very fine "teeth" and didn't hold the mat in place very well.
An adhesive change was made at the source in March of 77 to correct the problem. Then Chevrolet Product Assurance realized that the Corvette emblem at the bottom half of the mat would cause interference with the heel of the drivers foot. They discontinued the mat and referred the customer to a 78 Corvette solid color mat with the Corvette emblem up towards the toe area.
The 77 multi-colored mats are extremely hard to find, especially in NOS condition. Also, these were the only multi-colored Corvette floor mats ever produced. Every mat since then has been a solid color. The mats were available in Black, Brown, Blue and Red. These pictures do not do the mats justice as they are more vibrant in color than the photo shows. No one reproduces the 1977 factory floor mats. In my opinion these are the most eye appealing factory Corvette mats ever produced.
I have a few sets for sale. These have been in my possession for 30 years and have always stored flat in a climate controlled environment. Email me at blbeck77@aol.com if interested.

I got my set of red '77 OEM floor mats from Bob & they're beautiful! He's right, these bad boys are as rare as hens teeth. Nobody reproduces these unique mats & probably never will; definitely a 'must have' if you're doing a NCRS restoration of if you want your '77 to be as correct as possible.......
