WTB rear end for 1979
Need a rear end for my 79 L82 4 speed. I think it is a 3.70 but open to anything you might have. I pulled it out tonight and think it is toast Was going to get it rebuilt but damage is pretty bad. Dont think it is rebuildable.

I've seen (and done) worse. A new carrier, ring and pinion and your back in business. Unless your a purist I would go with a set of richmond gears and an auburn pro diff.

Problem is the case is munched. Looks like the hole in the case for the side yoke is all tore up and elongated. I will post a pic of it later. Please let me know what you think. Thanks Ted

Ive got one out of my '71 that was running fine, I just had a 3.73:1 built for it. It has 3.08:1 gears, I can measure the end play tomorrow, it's at work.
There were no known issues or noises coming from it. It has the B/B stubs on it. Also have an extra set of 1/2 shafts with flanges. Let me know if you are interested. Not sure if shipping out to you would make sense $$$ wise.
