SBC 406 For Sale!
I have my 406 SBC That I need to get rid of, I wanted to keep it around as a back up, but I got laid off and it has to go.
Here are the specs.
Motor
400 30 over
406 Cubic inches
11:5.1 Compression. runs on pump gas. I ran it on 93 with no knock pinging or detination. The motor does like 110 octane.
Cola Crank
Pink rods
TRW pistons flat top pistons with valve reliefs
Clevite bearings
Large Lunati Hydraulic camshaft. Hyd.Flat Tappet; RPM 2500-6500; Adv.Dur. 300 Int./Exh.; Valve Lift .515 Int./Exh.; Lobe Angle 108 Deg
Comp cams Hydraulic lifters
Brand new Auminum Brodix Spec 2 heads, fully ported and polished
New valves, springs, locks retainers keepers, valve seals.
Performer Edelbrock RPM intake
Moroso 8 Quart deep pan with trap doors
Flex plate
Comp Cams Rocker arm studs with polylocks
Chromoly hardened pushrods
Crank pulley
Fuel Block Off plate
Im asking $3000 firm.
The motor will be everything from intake to pan, No valve covers.
The car saw a best time last spring of 11.65@117MPH. That is with the car weighing full weight, stock suspension, springs shocks from 1991. Stock 10 bolt rear with a stock gear, and a 2400 convertor. With a gear suspension, and a larger convertor in a car at the same weight, you should see low 11's on motor, 10's on Spray. The motor was also built to handle N20.
I had never sprayed the motor. There are currently about 5,000 miles on the engine since it was put together. The motor has seen 5 track passes. The motor can be driven daily without any issues.
Here are some pics of the motor still in the car,The motor was pulled after the pic was taken.

TTT for a good deal. That is an expensive crank and heads. They would cost more than the asking price for the whole engine.

The heads were purchased from my machinest. I asked if he had any heads he wanted to get rid off, he had these for his own motor that he never used brand new. I bought them and he ported, polished, them replaced springs, valves etc.
His name is Jerry, he owns Jamr Racing Engines here in Loves Park Il.

I am interested in your 406. A few questions though.
Flat tappet cam and roller lifters?
P/N of the cam?
Specs on the heads?
Rod bolts?
I'm just south of Peoria, so I could come and pick it up.

The Lifters are a mis print. I had a spare parts motor and when I was copying and pasting all the info for both motors I pasted the wrong lifters in the wrong ad.
Numbers off the cam as it states are. Lunati 13DD 108 00012
The heads have 1.60 and 2.02 valves. All new hardware, valves, springs retainers, keepers, guides, locks. Fully ported and polished.
The numbers off the heads are. SPCH HB919 3448 HP130
Rod bolts are stock alomng with all the bolt hardware except for the rocker Arm studs. Those are from Comp Cams.
Feel free to come and take a look. I can pull it apart for you if you come and look at it.
