1971 Water Pump - For SALE
I have a very nice 1971 water pump that came off my '66 BB.
I have replaced it with a proper date coded water pump for my car
and now have a very nice '71 pump that I am sure some one may need.
The numbers on the cast are:
K 18 71 3992077 GM 8T
My car was a SW car that the pump is SW quality.

1971 Water Pump for a 1972 corvette
If my math is correct the date code K 18 71 should represent
November 18, 1971. The pump date should be 'before' your car
build date. So this pump is really for a 1972 corvette now that I
think about it....
I paid $230 for my correct date coded '66 water pump, but am willing
to sell this 1971 pump for $125
The shaft measures 9/16" in diameter

Only partially correct. According to the NCRS 1968-1982 Specifications Guide the letter I was not used in hand stamped date codes but was used in foundry cast date codes.
It was also used to "represent the ninth month of body production on St. Loius body identification tags".
