Default WTB Gas tank for a 1980

I need a good used tank to replace my leaker. Another forum member had one at a good price but couldn't get it shipped. I would come pick it up if it was reasonably close to western North Carolina. Can anyone help? I want to get my baby back on the road.

A few yrs ago I gave up looking for a new tank for my 81. If you find a good used one under 150$ that may be the way to go, but over that it would be better to have yours completely restored. It cost 350$ to restore my 81 with me taking it off and putting back on the car.

If you want to make a road trip to East Alabama, I have two parts cars. You take it out, you can have it.... tobyte1@yahoo.com

Alabama..at this point it's tempting.

I can buy a new one for $249.00 from various suppliers that isn't lined. I'd prefer to spend less on a good used one that I can get close to home or that can be shipped to me.

Still looking. Thanks!

I have one on the auction site. It's from an 81. As long as they're cleaned out, they'll ship reasonably via UPS Ground. PM me for the listing.

Where is your's leaking?

I just pulled the tank out of my '81 today to put a sump in it only to find out that it has a liner. The tank is in perfect condition but the liner makes me weary of butchering it.

I have one off a 79. Don't know if that will work. It has been painted an cleaned. It also has a new sending unit. It isn't leaking or has any dents but I believe there might be a crack in the bladder so that would have to be removed. Not a big deal or anything but I wanted to make sure I mentioned it. It also comes with the straps that are painted as well. I am asking $190 if you are interested. I am located in Charlotte, NC.
