i got tunes!
have had my 79 c34 for just about a year. i found it in a barn in perkinsville, vt where it had been stored under cover for six years or so, started and driven around frequently. 52K miles, but she needed a full service, cleaning/detailing the interior, numerous dash bulbs, a tach circuit board, general tlc, and a radio. PO couldn't remember last time the radio worked.
resistance in one rear speaker circuit measured 54 ohms! (corrected with new butt splices) ; power for the radio circuit that i had last year disappeared because of a wonky fuse connection (installed a fused jumper from power under the console); an old 10a fuse poofed in the middle of the install (replaced w/new); retaped missing insulation on antenna wire (mice), etc. oof, what a job!
i really didn't expect the antenna relay to still work, and feared the power antenna was locked up.
but! donnie sent me a perfectly functioning am/fm stereo radio with 8 track tape, installed it today and everything (and i mean everything) works perfectly.
many thx, dude!
