I have a tear in one of my seats. I am waiting to get a quote from a local upholstery shop. He is having trouble finding a source for oyster leather because according to him, in 1978 they did not offer leather as an option. It was either vinyl or cloth. My seats have been changed to leather at some point in its history. I was wondering if anyone has an old set of oyster leather seat covers they would be wiling to sell?

Interior trim code for Oyster Leather 1978 is 122. Check your trim code to confirm the original seats. They may have.come leather. In any event oyster leather was available in 1978

Ok, thanks! Despite this fact though, the guy is having trouble finding it. Does anyone know where a supplier is, or have an old door, or seat cover?

I will be replacing my seat covers in the next couple of months.They are the 1979 type.

Thanks John, but the 79 Oyster is a tad darker than the 78's. Thanks anyway.
