I also own a 1970 LS-5 and watch for parts all of the time even though mine has all the correct dated parts. I even bought an unrestored extra 3940960 two years ago for $100.

No, as I spent years collecting rare spares for my '70 "just in case". '70 only front grilles, five port pumps, original exhaust tips, etc. CF members have been a great source, swap meets, eBay. Just be vigilant.

No problem. My 70 Lt-1 & 454 have the original other parts you mentioned. They do repop the washer & exhaust tips if anyone needs them

True that but I prefer OEM but will buy reproductions as a last resort. I held off buying the Fortier tips and now I have nice original set of rechromed 1st Design tips.
Doubly nice you have both a 1970 LT-1 and an LS-5. Have you had them registered on the 1970 Corvette Registry? Also refreshing that you are looking for correct parts.

I'm similar to Scott...Picked up 1970 unique bits n pieces over the years and may probably never fit them as my '70 LS-5 is all original...but I remember what I went thru to find the stuff.
Front studded grilles, alternators, master cylinders, all the way back to gas cap and 1st design tips...oh well...one of these days...
