Ed one has O7 1 4 9 the 9 is hand stamped the other head has no date code which I have been told some early heads did not have a date code but I am no expert

Wes, it's not unusual for later service replacement heads to be missing the casting date, so it appears that's what you have. At least on that one head.

However, the 07 1 4 9 date if VERY unusual. Can you post a picture of that one? I've never seen a date in that format.

Thanks Wes. That's a Winters foundry code and as of yet, no one (at least to my knowledge) has been able to decipher these. Most of the time it's just 1 2 3 4 5 6 or 6 7 8 9 0, etc..., but once in a while you see these random numbers that appear to have no meaning at all!
