Default Used 1975(?) radiator core support in need of repair

I have 2 projects presently....both are 1975 models.
I have the original radiator core support on one of them and it is in good shape except for the bottom cross piece. Typical swiss cheese rust.
I am practicing my welding/fab skills and want to fix this one.
I see new ones for $275-300.
I can think of better parts top spend that money on.

SO....if you have a semi-rusted (3 good sides) support that you recently replaced with a brand spanking new one.....and you did not scrap it yet......
Let me know how much you want for it and I'll take a look in my pocket/check book.

BTW....heading out from Athens, GA to Virginia Beach, VA for a week of saltwater fishing.
Leaving the 8th of May and coming back on the 15th.
Anybody have one of these supports along the I-85 corridor, this would be perfect time to grab it.

Also, if anyone needs something picked up or moved let me know. Got my Prius only on this trip but I can still move a thing or 2.

Txs for looking.

I'm about 3/4 mile from Exit 8 in N.C., Kings Mountain.
Stop for a few (coffee, Sweet tea) and say "Hi".
I'll show you my man cave and project.

Default Core support fo 1980 if it will work, in Texas

I have one for a 1980 that is what you are looking for but I don't know if they are the same. 50.00 plus shipping from Houston, Texas. Just thought I would throw it out there!

Hey Cam68......
Thanks.

Not sure about an 80 fitting a 75. I'll need to research or just ask Alan71.....

I have a couple other leads but Houston is not that far. I'll let you know asap if I need pics. $50+shipping sounds fair unless there are only 3 sides to the brace....

Txs again

Bryan had a decent candidate but the shipping from CA is just not worth it.
So I guess I better limit this test case to something a little closer that I can pick up myself or someone else is nearby and can drop it off.

Thanks to Bryan for all the great pics....if someone on the West Coast wants to try this idea. Check out Bryan's core support.

Guess I'll be calling North Carolina tomorrow.....LOL

Default Sizes difference by years

Little research and it looks like in the Paragon catalog, they show 3 radiator core supports.
1969-72
1973- early 76
1976 late - 82

But looking closely it seems that the differences are based on the radiator changes and differences between SBC and BBC.
The perimeter and widths from fender skirt to fender skirt are similar.

Hmmmmm.....

Looks like best way is to get a couple and lay them on top of one another.

I'll be changing out the bottom brace anyway as that is where the rot is usually.

The project marches on.

Txs for looking
