Default 1975 tilt-telescoping steering column

I have for sale a tilt-telescoping steering column from a 1975. I was planning on modifying the column to use in my 1968, but after many calculation and major brain damage I have decided not to follow through with the modification.
The column has been cleaned up, replaced upper and lower bearings and race, key reminder switch, and horn contact. Everything works as original column can be used in 1969-1975
Asking $1000.00 plus shipping with steering wheel. $950.00 plus shipping without steering wheel.
Any question or additional pictures please ask.

Sorry, that price is only with the purchase of the column to help offset the cost of shipping.

I'm not sure what the differences is between the 75 and 76 are. I believe 76 is a one year only. If someone one on the forum can answer that question please post it with my listing it would be much appreciated.

Yes the 1975 Column will fit in your 1976. The columns are identical with the exception of the steering wheel and steering wheel mounting hardware. If you buy the 1975 column, you MUST (would be smart) to buy the complete assembly with the steering wheel. In that configuration, you would just install the 1975 COMPLETE ASSEMBLY! BTW: the above is a very good looking column. For more info see below link.

Besides the ignition switch what other mods are needed for the 1968 install?

Major rework of the column diameters (larger shaft diameter), would take changing to 69 column mounting bracket, rework of lower dash pad drivers side. Bottom line the tilt tele column is about half again larger then the standard 68 column.

Would consider trades of FIA lighting, l88 hood, 427 manifolds, or other offers.

Just an FYI, the column appears to be missing the tilt bowl plastic cover. The only way to put a new one on is to completely disassemble the column.
Everything else looks good.

If you would please explain in regards to the item missing. I don't see anything shown in any parts illustrations about a plastic liner. Is it part of another assembly? Any picture of the item or assembly would be appreciated.

I think I see what you say is missing I went to the 71 service manual and they show a housing cover that goes over the transmission control lock tube housing. Paragon, Corvette America both show a "steering column housing lower cover black plastic". That looks like the part I need it's only $29.00 I will order the part and install it on the column until I get it replaced I'm not going to sell the column.

I want to thank you for letting me know about the missing part the column was missing that part when I purchased it and not being familiar I was not aware it was missing.

It's a lot of work for a plastic cover, and it may or may not be that important to the buyer. Just a heads up for you as the seller.

I agree as far funcition the missing part would not be important. But after looking at a friends 69 the cover should be on there for cosmetic reasons. Looks like I have a little work ahead of me.
