Pikeslayer, it looks like you have a 69 ONLY rear alternator housing. I have a 69 and the clocking position has the power connector at the 12 o'clock position. I can't see anything wrong with your alternator other then it being clocked incorrectly 90 degrees counter clockwise!
I have a 69, 1100825 alternator with the correct clocked position. PM your email address if you'd like a picture of it.

dont you just remove the 4 screws and rotate the housing 90 degrees to get it to the position that you need it?

but if your car is an early 69 build then it maybe possible without the Boss
