Default C3 1968-1972 L88 hood for sale

I am selling an L88 hood. It's been painted but does appear to have been on the car. Dimensions are the same as a stock hood on a '70-72 car. $500 + shipping or local pick up. Listed on eBay as well.

That's a short hood. Appears to be a stock small block hood that had a scoop added to it.

It is the same length as a stock hood ( same dimension when I compared them to OE hoods on 1868 &1972 ) Once piece, solid molded hood. It is not an aftermarket scoop attachment.

Are you sure about it not being a stock hood with an L88 scoop molded to it? From the underside you can see what appears to be holes where they screwed the L88 scoop to the original hood while they bonded it.

Not trying to mess with the sale just think you might be mistaken.

REPLY: Hello senior forum member. Thanks for the question. Well, I own the hood and can see clearly inside the two layers, that this is not a small molded-on center scoop piece. It's one solid piece on the outer/upper and also on the lower underside, fully bonded around the edges.

The holes on the underside of the hood are probably from hood insulation that originally came with the aftermarket hood. The previous owner of the car had this extra hood, L88 never installed, and seems to have removed what appeared to be insulation and cut an extra hole in the under layer of fiberglass for additional airflow from the rear of the hood to let air flow between the two hood layers from the intake near the wiper door forward into the engine compartment. It is not patched on either layer.

Records with the car show it was purchased from Eckler's. This hood was painted, Steel Cities Grey, but never installed and gained a few minor scuffs when it was in the previous owner's garage. The original standard hood is on the car.
