Default Hi

I believe they were clear and they had GM part numbers on them. That is how you tell repro from original. Humble opinion. Hard to find and expensive. I have one set in NOS box. But, not for sale. Sorry

Unless 68 is different than 69 up I think the Corvette Accessory floor mats were black. I have a pair of black NOS mats in the GM box I would sell. You can PM me or email me at stricksr@aol.com

I bought a new 69 from Malcom Konner Chevrolet in the summer of 69 and it had the black rubber mats which were a dealer accessory. There may have been clear available also but mine were black.

The "Custom Features Accessories for 1968" Price Schedule shows:

MATS - RUBBER FLOOR, Contour - Front - Clear Vinyl..... Corvette 987441
with a dealer price of $5.33 pr and a suggested list price of $8.90

While different colors were listed for other models, the Corvette shows that it only came in clear. Not a very good picture, but see attached from the "Corvair & Corvette 1968 Custom Features Accessories" manual.

While the book may show only clear I'm quite positive what I bought from the dealer in 1969 and they were black. I'm sure you noticed that the picture used in the booklet is of 63 to 67 mats.

Sorry, I can't help for 1969 since I don't have that book.

Hi,
I have a well worn set of the black rubber mats I bought and used in 71.

I remember the clear vinyl mats too.
They were very stiff when it was cold and turned yellow pretty quickly.
Maybe they WERE for mid-years originally?
Regards,
Alan
