Default 383 Stroker/Super T-10 Transmission Combo

Engine, Transmission, Differential and Headers are SOLD now. Thank you for looking.

383 Stroker with Borg Warner Super T-10 Transmission

ENGINE:
Block is a 4 bolt main 39700010 block.
It was zero decked, bored .030, clearanced for the rods for a 383 crank.
The block was boiled and blasted.
Oil galleys were cleared and new plugs installed.
Cylinders final honed to fit pistons and rings used for the build by the machine shop.
New main bearing caps installed along with ARP studs and line honed.
Block was painted with Eastwood ceramic engine paint.
Lifter valley painted with red electrical engine protection paint to help speed up the oil drain back to oil pan. It also seals in any small flash particles that could get loose and contaminate the oil.
I also did clearancing of all flash in the lifter valley. Tapped the drain holes in the valley and installed plugs and breathers. This keeps horsepower-draining hot oil from dripping down onto crankshaft and redirects it to the drains at the ends of the valley.
The block has been machined and clearance for a 383.
The crankshaft, rods, pistons and harmonic balancer have been balanced together.
The crankshaft is a CAT Engine make CK 383 early production cast crankshaft.
The rods are aftermarket forged and the pistons are Speed Pro hypereutectic.
The heads are aluminum aftermarket Proheader model with 64 cc displacement.
The Lunati #10120703K valvetrain kit was pretty thorough.
Cam specs are 275/281 adv duration, 227/233 int/exh at .05 lift.
Lobe separation 110.
Valve lift with 1.5 rockers is .489 int/ .505 exh.
Stainless steel rockers in 1.6 lift.
Carb is a Summit racing 750CFM Vac Secondary Carb
Intake is a Edelbrock Performance Air-Gap
Distributor is HEI
A quick glance at the parts list and I figure I have almost $4,500 in machine work and parts.

TRANSMISSION:
Transmission is a completely rebuilt Borg Warner Super T-10. This was completed by Jody’s transmissions in Reading, PA. It was taken completely apart, cleaned, inspected, key parts replaced, new gear set installed, assembled and balanced. The transmission comes with all fluids to fill it and it will be ready to use. The throwout bearing is new, matched and comes with the assembly.

The Hurst shifter was also removed and restored by Jody. The shifting is smooth and very strong with the Hurst shifter. The Borg Warner transmission is historically stronger than the Muncie as well.

CLUTCH:
A high performance clutch was purchased to match the power of the 383 stroker to the Super T-10. McLeod was selected. I can provide the part number. It was matched to the Super T-10.

FLYWHEEL:
A high performance flywheel was purchased, again to match performance, with the Engine and Super T-10. I can provide the part number. It was matched to the Super T-10.

The clutch and flywheel were matched to the engine performance needs.

Rebuilding the transmission, and purchasing the clutch and flywheel combination cost me over $2,000.

I have a bell housing for this setup and all bolts to mount the transmission, clutch, flywheel, bell housing together. The bell housing is powder coated black. The engine block is painted black. The heads are aluminum. The valve covers are aluminum as well.

The carb is still in the box. But comes with the engine.

The engine does not have a water pump mounted. It does have the external balancer in place.

I am certain I am missing something but cannot think of it at this time. Total spend was over $6,500.

Asking $5,500 or best offer for the complete setup if purchased together.

EXTRA ITEMS AVAILABLE:
I have nice ceramic coated Hooker Super Comp headers available and listed here. https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...k-headers.html
I have a 3.36 HD restored differential rebuilt for me by Bair's, also available. See post #8 below.

Thank you.

One could only wish that were true. Unfortunately, not on this one.

Default Additional Information

Please let me know if you need additional pictures. I have taken the Craigslist down to correct it as it had incorrect information within it.
Thank you and best regards,
David

The differential is a 3.36 HD. I had it rebuilt by Bair's Corvettes. I purchased and they installed the HD Yoke assemblies as well. Rebuild service cost me $649.00. plus shipping. The yokes cost me $120.00 each plus shipping. It is not filled with oil but the oil comes with the sale. I have it here as supplied by Bair's. I took pictures of all sides and the rear plate and the bottom. Hard to read the code on the bottom but I will work on that.

I would need $1,000 or best offer to part with this one as I have over $1,300 invested in it. Plus shipping of course. The weight is about 100 pounds and would ship from 18045. If purchased with the engine and transmission I will discount the price to much lower.

Thank you for asking.

David

Yes, it is on another thread in the forum and referenced in the original thread here (first post).

The only thing I don't have for the drive train is the drive shaft and that is sized for the car it is being used in, and I didn't get that far.

Half shafts, rear trailing arms complete, you name it, I had it ready for this car. I'll build it into a rolling chassis pretty soon if the individual parts don't sell. All good, I am enjoying building the chassis and restoring the frames now and learning more each time.
