Default 77-81 Original Blue valve covers

Needed:

Original paint blue valve covers in very good condition or better. Needed for NCRS judging. They need not be perfect as the engine paint is still original and they should match the appearance as best possible. As such, I’d rather not repaint covers as they will stick out as redone.

If you removed a set to install aluminum covers, those may be perfect.

Also, if you have the bolts and retainers in similar condition I’d buy them too.

Thanks!

I saw a set of original blue valve covers advertised on Craigslist in Knoxville. I have no affiliation to the seller but thought I’d share this as it might be what you’re looking for.

Here’s the link:

Good luck

Thanks. I think that those have been repainted.

Still looking.

Still looking.

I think that almost any small block from the 77-81 era has these, so if you have a non-Corvette engine take a peek.
Up here in MI the oldest cars in junkyards are about 10y old, so nothing local for me to look.

Here’s a link to another set I saw advertised (I have no affiliation with this ad but am just trying to help out with your search).

Thanks. The owner has been trying to contact that particular Craigslist seller for weeks, as they're not far from us! Finally heard from him today, and he's in Florida until mid-April or later.

I have a set off of a 80 engine I pulled last fall.
Engine iscomplete and all together. I have to work till 11pm tonight then I’m taking a short trip. I’ll be able to get you pictures and whatever else you may need early next week..
Send me a PM with your number or email so I can send you pictures.
Texting would be easiest and quickest
Phil

Hi There,

Not sure if these will work, but I have a set of Corporate Blue covers that came off of either a 1982 Trans Am or Camaro with a 305. Pretty sure it was a TA. These were takeoff's from new and I got them from a family friend. They spent the last 30+ years crammed in a Moroso valve cover box until last year.

Since then I installed them (with the original bolts) and until now had intended to use them to protect the valve train from a repaint on my 78 L82 motor - obviously removed those original finned covers for that purpose.

Anyhow, I can take some photo's of them if you're interested and think they will work for you... They are definitely not repainted as I've had them for at least 30 yr's.

Let me know if you're interested and I'll be happy to snap some photos for you.

Still looking.

1977 valve covers did not have any brackets on them, as an FYI.

If you don’t have Facebook, let me know and I’ll reach out to the seller for you. Send me a private message with your email which I’ll share with the seller.

For some reason I’ve made this my mission to find these valve covers for you. Maybe I just like a challenge.

Patrick,

Try Dennis Tracy of Tracy Performance.
He posted on FB that he just bought a bunch of 77 parts.

Here’s a set that was just posted on Craigslist in Sacramento:

Hopefully these will work.

These are the set that was on my 1977 all original car. I no longer have it but I believe this is what you are looking for in color, style, and condition.
Pictures, as they say, can be worth a thousand words.

I noticed some paint dripping on one side so possibly someone painted them before I purchased the car. They have some small rust areas and some areas where it looks like some spots of some type of sealant. Problem is trying to remove the spots without removing the paint. I also have the original fasteners. If you can use them $30 for the pair.
