Default 1969 dated Rear Differential

I am looking for a dated big block rear end. Build date of car is October 1969. I am open on the ratio: 3:36, 3:55, or 3:70. Thanks!

I only ask because I have one of those really rare, highly unsought differentials and thought I would ask. Good luck with your search.

The Big Book Says, only factory Pos-trac 68-71 is with 2.73:1 gear with part number 3961431

The Carrier pn 39117861

That is a good ratio for Big Blocks, my 454 runs a 308, the ratios you listed works fine for small blocks but will handicap a Rat Motor.

Hope that helps

You're reading the wrong book. Posi was available in '68-'71 from 2.73:1 to 4.56:1.

I have had L71 and L89 cars with 3:55 and 3:70 rear ends in the past and they work great. I also had a l36 with 3:08 and it was ok for highway driving but lacked a little around town....

Default rear w/3.08

I assume you are looking for something that is for sure dated per your request and 3.36+, and possibly not one to rebuild? Mine made your date time frame, but the stamping for gear was off as it's a 3.08.. However, it was 427. I'm not sure of your criteria, but if you do change your mind $250.00 plus shipping. It's never been apart other than i took the front yoke from a build Gary R was doing for me.
