Richard Prince's Corvette C3 Buyer's Guide
Wondering if any forum members have an extra copy they would be willing to sell to someone who's wanted a C3 all his life and finally has the opportunity to start hunting. I'd like to use it help me find a good one, but all the copies available online are ridiculously priced at $100+

Thanks for the link, but I'm looking for this buyer's guide, not the restoration guide.

Hi KO68. Thanks for your offer, but I was hoping for something more in the $30-40 range since the book was only $25.95 new.

The Buyer's Guide is out of print which is why existing copies tend to get pricey. It was a great reference in it's time and would still be good for the model year by model year descriptions and the pics. Naturally, the repair/restore prices listed would be years out of date.

Have you considered Dobbins' book?
The photos are amazing.

Oh I haven't heard of that one, but it sounds good because the main thing I am looking for is pictures of where to look. Could you provide a link?

Also, not sure what year you want but Dobbins' books are 68-72 and then later models.
Swap meets are a good place to pick these books up.

Thanks. I just bought this one which looks like an older edition:
One the reviews of the one I purchased says that the pictures are all in black & white. Is that so with the newer edition that you linked as well?

Ok good, just glad that I'm not missing out on anything. I have Falconer's Collector's Originality Guide which only has a section on the chrome bumper models, so I am excited to get my hands on an entire book about them! You guessed right, I am looking for a '69, convertible and 4 speed to be precise.

Haha no chance for that one, it's just as rare (read: expensive) as the Richard Prince one. Interestingly, it seems like Rick Bizzoco only wrote the one book on this one year, guess he was an real expert on this specific model year.

I bought 2 ‘69 4 spd 350hp roadsters within a couple years of each other about 10 years ago. I bought the Dobbins book, the Bizzoco book, and the NCRS Judging Guide. I have not stopped using any of them the entire time I’ve owned my car.

I'm drooling over your black beauty I'd love to be able to find one like that. I'm thinking I need to start expanding my search from just my local area since the biggest help for me would probably be getting someone more knowledgeable to help inspect. I will pick up the NCRS judging guide, though, since that is readily available from their webshop.

Just received the Dobbins book which is excellent! It is so detailed and goes over everything from options to specific decals. It is good to have an entire book dedicated to those few years, as he has the space to go into fine detail.
I was also able to borrow a copy of the Prince guide which is good, but not as detailed since he only has a few pages dedicated to each year. I will be looking out for the Bizzoco one, now.
Thanks again for your help.

I actually bought a copy of the Prince book since you started this thread. Its OK, certainly not the level of the Bizzoco or Dobbins books, but good info for the new buyer. It fits in my library.

If you can spare the time you should consider coming out to Corvettes at Carlisle this month and use this as an opportunity to learn as much about the C-3's as you can. You don't need to own one to enjoy the show and there will be several there for sale if you want to look, learn, and drool. You might find a copy of the book you are looking for there as well, I have had success in the past.
Also, I'm located in Easton, PA and if I can assist you in your search let me know, be glad to help.
Good luck with your search.
