Edelbrock Dress-up Kit: Valve Covers and Air Cleaner
The PO of my 1979 put this on a year or two before we bought her, so the set has less than 2000 miles on it. I didn't clean the inside of the valve covers, they were clean right off the engine.
Included are a pair of valve covers, a breather, and a PCV grommet that fits stock PCV valves. Also a drop-base air cleaner, and a 14" by 2" (less than stock) K&N air filter. One valve cover has a bit of paint missing under the top hold-down hardware.
Also available are the hold down bolt set including all 8 spread-style retainers All 8 t-wing hold-downs are included, but you will need one additional stud to go into the head (1 3/8" long, 1/4"-20 thread), which you can cut from another bolt, or threaded rod, or whatever.

Valve Covers, low profile, Edelbrock Signature PN 4443 (but purchased a part of a kit, most likely)
Complete package, Edelbrock Signature PN 1223K (note that I do not have the other breather, the tall air filter, or the second gasket).

What is the part number for the base plate/whole cleaner assembly. What carb does it fit
If the air cleaner was available separately, I wasn't able to find it. I suspect the PO of my car bought kit 1223K, and the missing pieces (in the listing) didn't convey with the car.
The air filter and valve covers were on a stock L48 with the original Quadrajet carb.

did you have it with a big block hood or small block hood. Is it offset and dropped?

It was under a stock 79 hood. A 2 Inch air filter was installed, but I suspect a stock 2.75" air filter would fit fine (like the L82 cleaner that is now installed in the car). It is a drop base, but not offset.
