I have a dimmer pivot for a ‘78. It’s GM part number 7833702. I bought it NOS and used it in my ‘77 briefly until I could get a new one made for my ‘77. I drove the car maybe 500 miles with minimal turn signal usage with this part installed. It’s still like new. If I remember correctly, there were two different pivot designs for 1978: one that’s held in with a screw, and one that’s held in with a pin that’s pressed in. This one is the one with the screw, which is included. If you have a ‘77, it’ll work, but you’ll need a different turn signal lever and you’ll lose the wiper switch.
