MERLIN is now living in Dallas-Fort Worth, TX
I just got home from the annual Fort Worth Rod & Custom show and next thing I know, there's Merlin.
It's very cool and a quality job, but I could see why it hasn't sold anywhere near the original investment. A local guy bought the car at the Barrett Jackson auction in Scottsdale, AZ. I didn't meet the owner, but talked with another club member. The owner is in the Christian Classic Cruiser's club.
Sure Hope I get a ride in it some day!

now i wasn't part of the forum when it was being built and i tried not to listen to alot of commotion (sp?) about the car. my biggest problem with it is it's past owners. they never drove the thing. correct me if i am wrong but it seemed like all they did was smack it with the checkbook instead of trying to build something feasably drivable. maybe the past owners were on an ego trip trying to see who could spend the most money. it does LOOK cool, though.

74 roadster, the only thing I don't like about Merlin is the seats. I don't recall what kind they are, but they seem to sit a little too high and too far forward to me. I am 6'1" tall and 200+ so I am not a small guy though. I was ready to go with aftermarket seats until I sat in that one, now I am a little leary about finding something that fits.

Crap, now I've got to go against that damn car in all the local car shows. I'm going back to original......... I just realized my future father-in-law is showing at that event.

Hi
the only thing I don't like about Merlin is the seats.
I think one of the reasons that the seats are too far forward is the rollbar, that doesn't let the seats go all the way back.
I watched MERLIN's buildup very closely and was always very impressed about the effort, that was invested. Nothing was accepted the first time and sometimes things where redone several times before being aprooved.

I still love that car and the work that went into it.
Jenny McCarthy had some body work done and is no longer "all original", but she sure is nice to look at

Seems like most of the people that bad-mouth that car are people that normally get alot of attention on here and are afraid that talking about Merlin will detract from some of their attention.
