Boy, for 6618 miles and that price I would expect it to be in better condition. My '70 is a lot cleaner. I would have a C2 expert take a real close look at it. I think for the money, I would buy a whole stable of C3's and have ton's of cash left over to modify them.

I have to agree for the most part that midyear is BEAUTIFUL but for over a quarter mil I would want that thing to be effin PERFECT. Looking like it JUST rolled off the assembly line. No rust or ANY imperfections that weren't caused by the building process.
I would give him 75k for it (Of course that means I would have lots of money) but no where NEAR what he is asking.

Kind of sad. It's sitting there like an old maid waiting for a Prince Charming who will never arrive. I bet it only comes off of its jack stands and out from under it's cover (or do cars of this "calibre" get a bubble?) like once a year for Pebble Beach or Carlisle.
If anybody ever DID try to drive it, it would fall apart and leak terribly in VERY short order. I bet it smells, too...
Almost makes me want to cry.

Can someone explain how a 38 year old car has only 6600 miles? Someone paid good money for it in 1967 and you would think they would want to drive it, as at that time it wasn't considered a classic or a collector car. With 1967 prices what they are----odometer tampering??? Techniques are so soficticated now you don't see the pick marks.

Not 38 years, but my dad bought an 85 brand new and when my sister took over the keys last year, it had only 9,500 on it. This was the one he DROVE! It says in the ad that it was "publicity" car, so it got trailered everywhere and only idled along at parades and sat under unbrellas at shows. Doesn't seem so hard to swallow to me. Even when it was privately owned, perhaps the people who had it also had many other cars. Once your fleet of vehicles reaches a certain size, mileage on some of the "special" cars can be amazingly low. We had more than fifteen car when I was growing up and some of the were lucky to get driven ONCE in an entire year...others had hundreds of thousands of miles on them... I've "only" got five vehicles now and bteween weather and maintenance I'm never able to drive the Vette, so it doesn't build miles very fast at all...maybe 1000 year...while my DD gets 25K+ every year. My '00 Lincoln has 100K on it and the '68 Vette is at about 65K.
Imagine Jay Leno and his collection of over 100 vehicles. They say he drives a different car to work EVERY day, but I bet that excludes the steamers. Shoot, I bet some of his vehicle don't see 50 miles year...and he's very commited to driving them all. Imagine what a collector who just like to "look" would do...

Overstated and overpriced at the same time is the only unique thing about that Vette !

Sure is nice! Although it is a very low milage car, it has been driven. As for the rust, I don't see it as an issue. Some to the parts GM used were not painted and over 38 years will develop a coat of rust. This seems to be close to an original car. A restored car is not and can never be returned to original. Any time something is changed or repainted it can only be thought of as restored. Whoever get this car will have something that more than likey has not been doctored up.
I have no idea as to what the value is since it's way out of my league. However, if the bids are true bids; then it's worth more than 1/4 million. As it been said over and over, the value of something is only as much as someone is willing to pay for it.
