So this thing goes on the vacuum line before it gets to the booster?
Why would you need to filter vacuum? On the factory setup, does that line run straight to intake (or carb) vacuum or is it mixed with the line from the PCV valve? (It is on my setup now.)

on my 82 it goes straight to intake .maybe little bits and pieces can break up in the booster .not shure why they would put a filter there.
i bought a new inline brake filter .i did a vac test on it a slight leak.i did not know what it was for .on the back it said it was to prevent harmfull gases getting back to the power brake unit .i cut it in half it looked like charcoal .

i don't think you're filtering vacuum...more likely the other way around so if the brake booster diaphram goes south it doesn't get sucked into the engine....
i dont know .i was just reading the back of the package.maybe it works after the motor is shut down ,and prevents gasses going into the booster .it also says to change often .first one for me .
