I hope you don't feel this question is a waste of your time, but I have the clip that is supposed to tighten up the anti-theft lock to the body.
I've tried to put it on and have succeded to chip only a little of the outside paint off(just a speck, that you can barely see) but I don't want to chance doing any more damage than I have to. Anyone have any advise on how this clip is supposed to be installed?
Thanks in advance
Yes it is that horseshoe shaped metal thing. I tried to put it on the inside fender but the fiberglass is so thick that I can't seem to feed it into the notches. It looks like it needs to be forced so much that It's not even budging. If you have any other suggestions that'd be appreciated.
Ummm......it has a little bit of a bow in it I think....maybe try flattening it a little. Be sure a put some grease on it. If you can get it started you can probably tap it on down with a small hammer. It's in an awkward place so you might need some sort of long punch. That clip is very similar to the clips that keep the brake flex lines in place.....and they ARE snug. Start it from whatever angle affords the easiest reach with a hammer/punch.
