Default Rear Vibration? What should I check?

OK I know I need new u-joints on my '78 Daily Driver, my Dragvette half-shafts are due to be delivered Tuesday. I was hoping this was going to be my miracle cure for noise coming from the rear but now I'm getting a vibration that feels like it's coming from the back at about 65 - 70MPH. Could this symptom be from the bad u-joints? I searched some threads and am only getting more concerned. What quick checks are there I can do to see if I have a bigger problem? I've read about positioning hands at points on rear wheel and checking for play, what are they and what's bad and what's good? Should I progress with the 1/2 shaft replacement? As stated above my '78 is a daily driver and my primary source of transport and down time is not good. Please provide any guidance.

Thanx, -Pete. KEEP DRIVING!!!

Half shaft U-Joints being bad will definitely give it a shake.

As long as you are doing the half shafts replace the u-joints on the driveshaft as well. This can do the same thing, just at a higher frequency.
