Whats the difference in these two heads and which one is better.

Bowtie vortecs have a thicker deck, larger valves, and both perimeter bolt and center bolt for the valve covers.

The regular vortecs are fine for a mild performance application but the decks can crack in a high performance app.

I'm guessing that a Bowtie Vortec would also have a higher nickle alloy content than regular Vortecs?

I read an article about them in Super Chevy a couple of months ago. I can't remember, but I think Bowtie Vortecs use a standard intake.
