High(er)-Performance Mufflers for '69 Sidepipes
I found this wesite, and spoke with the owner today. He offers a high-performance version of the '69 sidepipe mufflers that fit under '69 sidepipe covers. His performance version is 1/2" larger than the factory mufflers. I'm pretty sure they'd be a restiction for me, but they'd probably work fine for a 500hp or so motor. Another alternative at least.

Thanks for the tip!! I definately want '69 style side pipes, but was concerned about exhaust restriction. These might be a great compromise.
Now if I can only find affordable covers :(

The guy that made my baffles is very, very close to having a set of mufflers to fit the finned style side pipes for the C3's. It will use the same spiral baffle design that the Hooker sidepipes use. Jim says he can get a 3.5" pipe to work behind the cover.

Chuck,
If he can get 3.5" pipe to fit behind the '69 covers, I'm sold. Can I get some contact info for your source? Can you refresh my memory - how is the sound (volume and tone) and do you feel they are restrictive? Are running Hookers or '69 style pipes? Thanks.

Monty,
Check out my recent post on the new baffles. http://www.corvetteforum.cc:88/zerothread?id=126482
Mine are Hooker side pipes. Jim's e mail is: JCL79383@aol.com Great Guy!! I think they would work very well for your very modest engine. They seem to be very free flowing!
