Where do you buy Lingenfelters anyway? I saw them on a TV show today, but have never seen them advertised anywhere.

I believe those were John Lingenfelter "Designed" heads for the BB Chevy, they are sold by Holley. I don't know if he has had anything to do with the SB heads or not.

Lingenfelter mostly deals with the new gen small blocks (i.e. LT1, LS1, LT4) but he does have a L98 set ($2395) OUCH!

IMHO his stuff across the board is overpriced. You can get a nice set of aluminum SB heads (i.e. AFR, Trick Flow, Dart, Edelbrock, etc.) for 1/2 the price of his heads that will produce the same result.

I think they said they got about 65 more horsepower out of a 454 with just the heads being
changed, does this sound right ?

Hehe...I was watching that too. I like when they (jokingly) asked Lingenfelter how many horsepower the signature was worth. :D

I wonder if they were taking an intentional stab at ricers everywhere.

Lingenfelter has a low production shop and a famous name. So he prices items VERY high. If you want L-98 heads, I suggest getting a set from salvage and sending them to CNC in FLA for porting. Excellent results at much lower cost.
