Default Got my '74 dyno'd!!! Results inside.......

I went to E-town on sat to finally race in the cartek corvette challenge, and of course it got rained out, which blew my whole day. But, at least while i was there i got the vette dyno'd on a rolling chassis dyno. Pretty neat looking dyno though! Here are the results which are all rear wheel.... What do you think?? Pretty damn good for a street car used almost every day IMHO!!

Thanks,
Chris

It looks like that ZZ-4 performs as advertised. I bet you surprise quite a few C-4 owners with that kind of speed out of a stock looking C-3.
I'm very jealous :cry I wish it was mine :yesnod:
Good luck!

Yeah im extremely happy with the results and the car in general! Not only do i have some c4 guys looking like what the hell, im taking care of some stock c5's and pissing off a lot of c3 guys...I meet some guy that night with a 75 claiming to have around 300HP out of a crate motor and running mid 15's. Told him my times and he got a little pissed off. hehe :D Anyway, ive been trying to hit 12's for months now. I think all i need is a nice cool night and another 1.99 '60 foot and ill have it. Either that or one of those and some high octane race gas from the track. But id rather say i got it w/o something not ran on the street everyday.

Thanks again,
Chris

I'm dying to get mine on a dyno, but I'm not sure if I wanna see the results... ;)

I just wanna know where I'm at...and get more of a baseline.

Actually Chris, if he's got 300 GROSS hp (<200rwhp) in his car, a TH400 and a 3.08, mid 15s is just about right.

Fowler '80.......it was 60 bucks on the spot or 45 if pre-registered, which as far as i know is a pretty good price.....i heard over a 100 in most shops. Worth the money, especially if you want a basline before doing some major mods.

SuperFast80, thats the setup hes claiming....and thats what he was running...he was real disappointed though. I wonder if its because of his 3.08 rear end?? Wonder if i should tell him thats about right for his setup, or leave it alone...id hate to hurt to shoot his hopes down....

Chris
I talked to my mechanic about it the other day and he said there are a few places locally that do it for about $60 normally. I just haven't called one up yet.

Great numbers 74 .... my car started life as a 350/200. The previous owner bought it from a friend of his that had rebuilt the engine and told him to always run the highest octane gas. What that means    I have a 4 speed with 3:36 gears, so whatever the engine has in it seems to be quick enough for me. I am going to have it dyno'd just out of curiosity though.

Wow!!
Great to show us your dyno sheet....
305 SAE HP (rear wheel) sound very good for me.
When my project is finished I´ll make a dyno test too
If I´m satisfied I´ll post it
:D

I'm like Chris (Fowler that is)...I wan't to get a baseline, but probably will be embarassed by the results. It's a matter of sucking up your pride and just doing it. I haven't been able to swallow that much pride yet. :U

Nice dyno sheet! I am a little surprised a 300hp 75 only runs mid 15's. My bone stock L48 ran high 15's with a whopping 165hp and it wasn't even running right! A lot of it is due to the gears. With my other car (80 Malibu), it ran 15.3 with 2.73's. and then ran 14.3 with 3.73's.

Those are some very nice numbers you got :D ! I'd say $60 is a pretty good deal, someone locally that has a chassis dyno wants $300  which is why I haven't had mine done yet ;) . Those numbers are great for any street driven car !! Very cool to see others shaking their heads  !

I had my '68 BB dyno'd a few weeks ago and was a little dissapointed. I havn't scaned in the sheet yet, but it was only 236hp. I ran a best time of 15.1 in the 1/4 mile at 3000' elevation.

I'm saving money for a new engine and hope to double that soon!
