Does a 1980 convertible count as a custom? Its almost as rare as an 1983 corvette

Re: ALL CUSTOM CORVETTE'S...Check-In !!! (Intimidator454)
I'll join in, in a year or more likely two. I've even considered the word "hybird", since we have used so many parts from so many different year Corvettes. If I have any dimes left over, I hope to buy a digital camera for show and tell.

HeHeHe! I guess I qualify for this one along with the old farts one a few weeks ago! No outside mods except the L88 hood and 14 different shades of Bubba orange! :bb All suspension parts including the thirty+year old bushings and the now concave rear spring are original also! Now under the hood - that's a different story! :D

I guess I'd be stretching things a bit if I asked if Chrome Exhaust Tips count :bs

78Vette-SA, Went to a show where a guy added a few chrome items to his vette and they put him in the modified/custom class. I guess you qualify.

Wow there are some magnificent looking customs there guys and it is real inspiring. Although having such an original car I just could not bring myself to make any modifications, as much as I'd like to. So I guess I'm a little unlucky, no hang on I am lucky then, oh I give up

Re: ALL CUSTOM CORVETTE'S...Check-In !!! (Turbo 77)
Turbo 77 - Years ago I used to see a 78 with a gale banks turbo emblem on his hood at the super market. I left a note and never heard from him. In the early 80's I got to see one of the real 24 hours of Daytona TT 81 cars. I guess that's why I always wanted a TT. I just never had anyones help about a kit.
So I only have a stroker!

Re: ALL CUSTOM CORVETTE'S...Check-In !!! (Intimidator454)
Just another one which won´t be original....
Some of the mods are in the signation, body will be slightly modified, custom air intakes on the hood for a custom built fresh air system.
Interior will be modified....
But after all it should look very tasteful.
She´s on the best way to become an eyecatcher

Re: ALL CUSTOM CORVETTE'S...Check-In !!! (Intimidator454)
Way too cool cars here. Mine is in the very raw stages and much still on the drawing board. Since I may autocross for kicks once in a while, and drag race even less, I am trying to go with parts that give me the most bang for my buck but don't go beyond street needs.
Body:
69 convertible, L88 hood, ZL1 flares all the way and solid rear body filler.
Interior:
Vintage Air system
Corbeau A4, dual hoop roll bar, black carpet, seats, panels
Sony extreme stereo, dual 12" subs (battery relocated)
Suspension:
Complete VB&P Performance plus front and rear
VB&P complete brakes and SS lines
Rims:
17" plus (tbd)
Engine:
454 .060 over
Stock Steel crank
Stock HD rods
Edelbrock perf RPM cam, head
Crane roller rockers
Edelbrock Pro Flo EFI w/ Airgap Perf RPM manifol
3:55 gears
Muncie 4 speed
Hooker sidepipe
Quarter Master hydraulic clutch conversion
Special Mods:
Fully electric "stock looking" pop up headlights (my own design-and keeping it to myself)
Fully electric wiper door
Many other ideas in the works.
Completion date???? At least by 2003 so I can soak up some 50th anniversary shows and cruise events.
Here is a quick link to my photo albums---check out my old V8 Fiero.

Re: ALL CUSTOM CORVETTE'S...Check-In !!! (Lasse)
Lasse I ordered the rollbar in kit form from Jegs. Their USA phone munber is 1.800.345.4545 or they have a Jegs.com website. All the bars came in a box and had to be fitted to the car. You do need to cut holes i the floor to weld to the top of the frame

Re: ALL CUSTOM CORVETTE'S...Check-In !!! (Intimidator454)
Well mine is pretty tame compared to some of your rides, but here goes:
That's the original L-82 bored .30 over, balanced, with 10.5:1 compression, Edelbrock RPM heads, Crane cam, and Edelbrock ProFlo RPM Fuel Injection. This blows out thru a set of headers into a 2 1/2" set of chambered pipes which are topped off with a set of Pacer resonators.
The car features an Imron paint job done in the '84 Cadillac color Dark Autumn Metallic. The interior is stock except a Pioneer Cassette deck and an Edelbrock air/fuel ratio gage mounted where the ash tray used to be.
On deck for next year is a set of 70's era color coded ET mags.
