Wife loves the car and has become a real enthusists. She even calls me to tell me when she sees another vette on the road and what model it is. Not sure if this is a good thing or a bad thing. :confused: At any rate she dosen't nag at me when I spen all day on Sat. Detailing it. :D

She hates to love it - I know it ! She just won't admit it!

When I first asked her out - she knew I drove the beast. But I picked her up in my mint condition 1968 Chevelle Nomad Station Wagon. Cherry red, and yeah - a red fireman's hat from Radio Shack on the seat - Texas license plates..."FAR TRK"..

Ahhhh - one ride in the Fire Truck anbd she was so pi$$ed that I did not pick her up in the Vette - she went out with me again....Good trick huh? :D

I remember one night - stalled and unable to restart due to vapor lock. It was one of those 98 degree Houston nights with 99 percent humidity. We sat there on Westheimer in the center median. I can still smile now - but then.... boy did I get it :mad

Had the Corvette since before the wife. She has no interest of any kind in it. Doesn't understand my passion for it and thinks it is just another car to be used to get from point A to Point B.
I try to tell her there are only two kinds of people in the world: Those that have Corvettes and those that wish they did.
Told her some folks stick it in their arm, some stick it up their nose, and I stick it in the garage.
She just doesn't get the whole Corvette thing.

My wife tolerates the two Vettes, and never says anything about them. She has no interest in driving them, and attends functions like club events purely for the social exchange. Hates speed, has convinced herself I will get killed in one and makes sure I keep my life insurance paid up. :D I'm sure she dislikes the amount of time and money I spend on the project car, but does not voice it. We've learned after thirty years to accept our differences.

My wife loves the vettes. Actually, I bought the 68' because she said if I didn't buy another vette so that we both had one to drive she was taking the 81' away from me. :yesnod: She never really understood my obsession with the car until we went to the rally in Sioux Falls this year. Now she's looking all over for corvette gatherings to go to. :cool: Nothing wrong with that.

my father-in-law loved anything that moved via a motor:cars,boats,motorcycles,tractors and thankfully some of this rubbed off on his daughter. the vette "passion" is mine,but she fully appreciates the car now that it is rebuilt. she didn't like the mess,especially when it carried over to her "side" of the garage and her Rav4 had to sit outside for a couple of days,but she understands and in fact,told me not to sell the car when the motor was just about gone and it was going to need a major influx of $$$$. i've talked of getting a shark convertible big block or a new C5 when i'm done with the '79(paint & new bumpers) and she has said i'm not selling the '79(which i've told her i will never sell anyway,many times) and that it'll be hers then.
She was afraid to drive the car after the rebuild because of the $$$ spent and the power it now has,but after a month she started driving it, and about a month after that she told me it had a lot of power and can get away from you pretty quick. i asked what she had been doing,and she said she had a "tailgater" following her that day and off a red light scared the "sheet" out of her and the other guy!!!!

My spouse loves Corvettes as much as I do...we have a "his" and a "hers"...which is the way it should be, don't you think?!!

In all honesty.....I have always wanted a vette. He wanted something more on the lines of a 68/69 camaro..yadda yadda. I talked...or more like whined....until I got him to start looking for a vette. But now that he's been working on it.....beefing it up.......he thinks it's HIS! :lol:
Okay....we share it :rolleyes: .....he is really into it now. As for seriousness goes....I don't have a serious bone in my body! :crazy: As you can see by the posts.....he's the ehhhh, uhhhhhh, no-it-all....heehee. Okay, he really does know his stuff when it comes to cars. The smartypants! :lol:

No wife yet but in that long term living thing. I think that she border line hates it. She does not like the attention that I give the Vette's and then the issue of time. Does she not realize what Dali had to do for his passion, I must do as well, especially when alot of my passion is still boxed up. She does love the fact that it keeps me out of the bars and getting in trouble. Ooppps, I have to run she thinks that all of Vette stuff is some kind of cyber **** for me.
