Default Lost 65 hp Where?

I need some help badly! A freind performed a dyno 2000 software on my engine. The results were 377 hp @ 5,500 & 404 torque @ 4,000. I had the car chassis dynoed today and results were 241.1 hp & 295 torque max numbers. If dyno 2000 is accurate to within 2%, where did my hp & torque go? Do I have a drive train problem? I am using BW clutch & plate. Trans T-10 243 low close ratio, 3.90 gears. Please help!
Thanks, Bud Snyder

If I had to guess, I would say software. They give optimum HP readings.

does the software give you a power to the ground # or a engine HP #? either way, its still not very close. but if it is a # to the engine and not the rear wheels, that narrows the hunt.

Dyno2000 is gross hp numbers - ala early 70's - chassis dyno is rear wheel horsepower.

So first you would have make calculations to find net horsepower - I dont know what is the rule of thumb 15-20%? then from net hp to gross figure another 5-10%. Might be closer than you think

You can expect about 15% loss through the drive train and you also have to consider the limitations of the simulators. DesktopDyno assumes that jetting, timing, ring seal, atmospheric conditions, etc., are optimized. While usually pretty accurate at telling you how much power a particular combination is capable of making, it's not possible for any simulator to give accurate information without accurate input. As far as I know, none of them allow for or correct for tuning variables.
