Default Mystery weatherstripping (picture)

I ordered some weatherstripping for my car and I have a couple of pieces that I don't have a clue as to where they go. The top ones are my old pieces that mount on top of the rear door jamb. I thought the pieces I received would have looked similar to these.

Thanks

Where did you order them from? It looks like that they sent you the wrong pieces. To tell you the truth I don't recognize either the top or bottom pieces as being like anything on my 69 roadster.

I just had a thought, you might want to try posting this over in the correct restoration forum http://www.corvetteforum.cc:88/zeroforum?id=77 There are a couple of real C-3 experts that hang out over there pretty often.

I ordered them from The Last Detail. The old ones are called body lock pillars.
They came on 68 and early 69. They help seal the convertible lid where it meets the top of the door jam.

I do not have a coupe but they look like something that might go at the top of the door jamb where the T-Top would interface to. The new parts you should receive should look exactly like you old except NEW.

I am no expert, but try reversing them...it looks like the top screw in the one on the left/top of the picture is in about the same spot as the "flat spot" on the right side of the one in the right bottom corner. But that might be called "babba"ing it. I think they sent you the wrong peices, "The Last Detail" seems to be a company that would send you exact peices, Because if that was the last detail, it would be wrong...

Just a thought;
Daniel

Kos, I was thinking they might be for a coupe also, I was hoping someone could identify them so I could tell the vendor what kind of weatherstripping they actually sent me.

Looks like the fillers on a 63-67. They go on the convertible top. The pic. is not great but thats what I think they are. Do they have a small metal tab.with a hole for a screw.

Daniel, they have two mounting holes that are incased in the weatherstripping. One hole is horizontal and one is vertical.

Then I have no idea what you got, wombvette seems to be on track...Maybe the people that manufcatured the stripping got some of it mixed up. If you really want to know, take the peices to a local body shop that's done a couple vettes in their time, they might have a weatherstripping guy who is familiar with them. also, going with wombvette's idea of a mid 60's coupe peice, go to the C1/C2 forum and post the pictures and see if someone has something like that on their mid 60's coupe or something...

Im at a loss :confused:

68rdstr -- Wrong parts shipped. Top pair (old) are '68 convertible deck lid corners. New parts you received are not '68. Return them and get the ones you need. I ordered mine from ZIP Products, Mechanicsville, Virginia. Exact match.
