Default Poly body mount cushions

I'm considering these body mount cushions from vbp http://www.vbandp.com/detail.aspx?ID=415 to hopefully slow down fiberglass cracking on my 69. Any experience with these? Is this the best way to go? I read in a thread that some people have also retrofitted rubber body mounts from later years

Thanks

I'm thinking that a harder body mount will transfer more stress to the body than a soft one... Mine has rubber mounts, and I'm thinking about going the other way, since these are gone for all intents and purposes. How bad are your cracks?

I have a few hairline cracks around the gas cap and one more significant one growing behind my left rear wheel. The thing is that I just had her repainted last spring. Supposedly the body mounts on a 69 are aluminum

I replaced the mounts on my 79 with poly, as the old ones were disintegrating in place. I do not notice any difference in ride comfort. I do not know if your 69 is exactly the same, but I would say go for it, the old ones are doing you no good rotted the way they are. I would assume that a new set of poly mounts would allow for less flexing of the body, but I am sure that there are many opinions on this matter. Good luck with the job, be prepared for that one body mount bolt that just won't... I had one like that.

Poly would be a good compromise between the harshness of aluminum and the crumbling abilities of rubber.
