Default Stock tire size for an 80

What was the stock tire size for and 80 corvette and what is the widest you can put on stock rims and not hit or rub anything? lou

Stock for my car was 225/70/15's. I'm not sure but I thought they had 2 different tire options.

There were 2 tire sizes offered that year. As stated above, the standard size was P225/70R15. A popular option was the P255/60R15, Goodyear GT Radial on early 80's and EAGLE GT's on later 80's.

front max is 255/60/15
max rear is 275/60/15 if you relocate the parking brake bracket.

Sure, it most certainly will increase the handling capabilities of your car but if you get into some serious abbusive racing you'll want a wider rim for a 275 or higher tire or it's gonna roll over hard. I run 245's on a 9.5" wheel.
