Bought a 1980 vette from a cousin yesterday. Drove it home, stopped at Wal-Mart, bought "The Club".

One of my buddies used to have a similar device on his truck, but it was better because it wrapped around the whole steering column, so as to prevent the possibility of simply cutting the steering wheel.

I think this thing was called a "Car Guard", but I'm not sure. Do any of yall know if that is right? Where can I find this device, or something similar? Didn't see one a Wal-Mart.

Sure am glad I found this forum! This is the place to be for a C-3 owner...

Are you looking for one of those that go around the steering column to prevent access to the ignition lock? Your local auto parts should be able to order one.

Go with this.... if they want to steal your car they have to get on their knees with their back to anyone coming up on them. They'll look for a car with the club instead. :mad

Nice choice of machinery. I am satisfied with the The Club. I think it works fine as a deterrant.

Thanks for the help guys. I had tried a couple parts stores, didn't have em. Finally found a Pep Boys that did.

But, as it turned out, I instead bought what The Wanderer mentioned.

So I now have a club and that damn break lock. That outta keep it safe...
