sb to bb changover
I am considering putting a big block in the 74. What problems can I run into
I want it to look good and have the ac work. I originally was going to do a 383
But I have a 402 laying around ,so Its something to think about.
So far I need the exh manafolds and ac brackets pulleys-etc
Not sure about radiator, shroud air cleaner,hood.
Any Input is appreciated .
Can a 402 be bored to a 427?

I'm thinking about the same thing in my "77 - looks like brackets for the alternator/power steering side are Vette only pieces. I bought a set of big block long compressor brakets and am going to see if these might work for the AC side.
Anybody out there with pics. would be appreciated.

You need sus. upgrade unless FE-7 & rad. A 402 can not be bored to a 427.
383 can make same or more power & handle better. Looks like a SB. :cool:
To do BB, suggest at least 427. 454+ better w/ Al. heads & intake.

I'm thinking of leaving the 3.08 gears and the th400 in the car.thats why I'm tempted to put the 402 in. ( could later change to a 454 if wanted)
What would be a good combo for a sbc that would work well with this.
Thats easy on the wallet.
It's for the wife to drive. has to run/idle nice,she doesn't like to drive the 64.
Anybody have experiance with Larrys in CA. their ad list a 415 CI SBC for approx $1500.
