AC Blower Motor
What's up with these blowers? My first CLASSIC AC CAR. The blower is really lame. A hair dryer moves more air!!!!
Is there a better blower motor? A fix for this?
thanks,
Mark
LOL, it might be losing most of it in duct system leaks, only way to know is pull the dash and go thru all the connections. Also a lot of posts about useing a C4 blower, sposed to make it better

Already pulled the dash for some other issues.....replaced the seals or foam in the ductwork.
The blower has been replaced ar some point. But still not like the newer cars...that blow your hair back

Have multiple speeds, just rebuilt the AC controller and replaced the switch, good to go there. Guess it's just the design. My previous C3's were NON AC cars. So living in FL , never used the heater, never paid much attention the amount of air the blower moved.
the new blower motor/squirrell cage is 1 1/2 '' deeper so a shim must be made or reglass the housing to accept the deeper cage. i used a chimmeny stove pipe cap at menards for 6 bucks,,traced the outline of the blower and cut out w/ tin snips and used longer screws, also used a vaccume line slit lengthwise for a gasket, improved air fow slightly, add this to also changing all seals inside ductwork and adding a #10 ground wire from the blower motor to the starter mounting bolt(where the motor grounds) and it should improve the air flow,,look in the photo below..my next attempt will be to put a non g m blower motor from a car that had very good positive air flow to see the difference---------------------------------
